Every machine goes over the same bench

What to check when buying a used Concept 2: we buy from owners, gyms and CrossFit boxes around the country, then strip, clean, service and test each machine before it earns a price. That is what used Concept 2 grading means here, and it is not a phrase we use loosely.

Every machine is photographed on the same bench, under the same light, before and after service.

What’s included on every machine

  • ✓Chain degreased, inspected, re-oiled or replaced
  • ✓Flywheel cage opened and cleared of dust and hair
  • ✓Seat rollers, monorail and foot straps checked
  • ✓Damper tested through settings 1–10
  • ✓PM5 paired, sensor and battery verified
  • ✓Real training session before it’s listed
  • ✓Flaws photographed as carefully as the highlights

— THE GRADE KEY

Three grades. No surprises.

A grade is a description of wear, not a sales pitch. It is set in the workshop and it does not move because a machine has been listed for a while.

A

A — Excellent

Low metres and kept indoors, with no wear worth mentioning. Across a room you would not pick it from a new machine.

B

B — Very good

Cosmetic marks only: scuffs, faded decals, a scratch along the rail. Mechanically perfect, and photographed so you know what is coming.

C

C — Well loved

Visible wear from real training, priced to match. It still pulls true, still measures accurately, and it is the same machine underneath.
