A cheap used erg is cheap for a reason, and it is usually specific: a stretched chain, a flywheel packed with dust, a monitor reporting splits you cannot trust. Every machine goes through this list before it gets a price.
01
We source from the community
Most of our stock comes from Australian owners, gyms and CrossFit boxes, and a good deal of it through our Facebook group. We ask how many metres a machine has done, look at the photos the way a buyer would, and if it is not worth refurbishing we say so and walk away.
02
Strip, clean, service
The chain comes off, gets degreased, then goes back on oiled or gets replaced. The flywheel cage is opened and cleared of dust and hair, which is the thing that quietly kills a drag factor. Seat rollers, monorail, foot straps and handle are checked. Bolts go back on torqued, not guessed.
03
We actually train on it
Every machine gets rowed before it is listed. The damper goes through its full range, the drag factor is checked, the PM5 is paired to a phone and the sensor and battery are verified. If it cannot hold a number, it does not get a listing.
04
Grade it honestly, price it fairly
We photograph the flaws with the same care as the highlights. Then the machine gets a grade, A, B or C, and a price set against what the same model actually costs new in Australia.
