Used Concept 2 RowErg Model D

$950.00

PM5 · standard legs · light grey frame

Description

A used concept 2 RowErg model D for sale in Australia in the original light grey, showing under 25,000 metres on the PM5. Light grey is the finish Concept2 sold from late 2012 to 2021, and it is the colour most gyms bought, which is exactly why so many of them have heavy metres on them. This one does not.

What we checked before it got a price

  • Chain pulled, cleaned and lubricated, no stiffness at the links.
  • Flywheel spins free with no bearing noise under load.
  • Damper clicks correctly through all ten settings.
  • Monorail cleaned, seat runs the full length without catching.
  • Seat rollers inspected for flat spots. None.
  • Footrests adjust on both sides, straps sound.
  • PM5 powers on, shows the lifetime meters screen, pairs over Bluetooth.
  • Frame, legs and welds checked. No cracks or bends.
  • Test-rowed before it was listed.

What under 25,000 metres actually means

Concept2 rates these machines for commercial use, and they run into the millions of metres before anything major is needed. Twenty-five thousand metres is about ten sessions for someone training seriously. In practice you are buying a machine that has been introduced to rowing and then left alone.

The monitor tells the story better than we can: the PM5 keeps a lifetime meters reading that cannot be edited without replacing the monitor, and the photograph in the gallery shows what it says.

Why the light grey matters

Plenty of people want the current black. If that is you, there is a black Model D at $1,150 with even fewer metres on it. What the light grey gives you is the cheapest honest route onto a genuine Concept 2 that still has a modern PM5 rather than the older PM3, which is the difference between this machine and the $699 one.

What $950 buys against new

A new RowErg is $1,705 direct from Concept2 Australia. At $950 this is $755 less for the same drivetrain, the same PM5 and the same frame geometry. The difference between this and a new machine is that someone else opened the box. The new versus used page runs the same comparison across every model we sell.

Delivery and warranty

Australia-wide delivery, quoted at checkout, or collect from the Perth workshop by appointment and row it before you pay. Two boxes, bolts bagged. Timing and freight on the delivery page.

Thirty days on working parts from delivery, seven days to return it if we described something wrongly. Both in full on the warranty page. Every machine goes over the same bench before it earns a price, which is set out on the grading page.

Light grey or black

The colour is not just cosmetic, it dates the machine. Concept2 built the Model D in light grey from late 2012 until the RowErg rename in April 2021, and before that it was grey and light blue. If someone is selling you a light grey Model D and calling it current stock, the finish tells you otherwise. The manufacturing dates for each generation are on Concept2s rower support pages.

None of that matters for how it rows, because the frame geometry and drivetrain did not change across the whole run. It matters for two things: what you should pay, and whether the monitor is a PM5 or something older.

Graded B. Under 25,000 metres shown on the PM5, light grey finish, mechanically sound and test-rowed.
