Description
This used Concept 2 SkiErg PM5 is for sale in Australia with the monitor and the floor stand, showing under 70,000 metres. It is graded A and it does the thing no rower does: loads your whole body from a standing position, with nothing to sit on and nothing to slide.
What we checked before it got a price
- Both pull cords run the full length, no fraying, no flat spots.
- Return is strong and even on both sides at every reach.
- Flywheel spins free, damper clicks through all ten settings.
- Mast base and mount checked for play.
- Floor stand and timber platform inspected for cracks.
- Handles and straps checked for wear.
- PM5 powers on, pairs over Bluetooth and ANT+, reads sessions correctly.
- Full session completed before listing.
What a SkiErg is for
The movement is double poling, borrowed from cross-country skiing. You stand, reach overhead, and pull down through your lats, core and triceps while your legs drive from a shallow squat. It is the only machine Concept2 makes that trains the posterior chain from a standing position, and it does it with almost no impact on the joints.
That combination is why it turns up in CrossFit boxes and physio clinics as often as in home gyms. It is hard on the lungs and easy on the knees, which is a rare pairing in cardio equipment.
Why this one, with the stand
A SkiErg without a floor stand has to be wall mounted, which people rule out for rental properties and brick. The stand makes it free-standing and movable. This one comes with the Concept2 stand and its timber base platform, so there is nothing left to buy.
Under 70,000 metres is modest for a machine Concept2 builds for commercial use. Everything about it is at the start of its life.
What $1,349 buys against new
The SkiErg is around $1,650 to $1,700 new in Australia before you add the floor stand. This one is $1,349 with the stand included, which is $301 under the machine alone. The new versus used page runs the same comparison across the range.

Delivery and warranty
Australia-wide delivery quoted at checkout. The stand and the mast ship separately from the flywheel unit, so you will get more than one box. Collection from the Perth workshop is by appointment, and we will assemble it with you so you leave knowing it is right. See the delivery page.
Thirty days on working parts and seven days to return it if it does not match the description. Full text on the warranty page. The inspection every machine goes through is on the grading page, and the questions buyers ask before their first SkiErg are on the FAQ.
Learning the movement
Most people are competent on a SkiErg within two sessions. The cue that matters is to hinge at the hips rather than bend at the waist, and to pull down past your thighs rather than stopping at chest height. Start at damper 3 and leave it there until your technique is settled.
Concept2 publishes technique videos and a full setup guide on its SkiErg page. It is worth twenty minutes before your first session, because the movement is less obvious than rowing and bad habits are harder to undo.
Pair a chest strap and the PM5 will show heart rate alongside your split.
Graded A. Under 70,000 metres, PM5 tested, floor stand and timber platform included.
