Description
This is the cheapest Concept 2 rower we sell in Australia, and it is only fair to say why. It is an older machine, a used Concept 2 Model D light grey with a PM3 monitor and around 95,000 metres on it, graded C because the frame carries honest wear. What it is not is worn out. The drivetrain is the same one that survives millions of metres in gyms.
What we checked before it got a price
- Chain cleaned, lubricated and checked for stiff links.
- Flywheel spins freely, no bearing noise under load.
- Damper moves through all ten settings. Verified against a second machine.
- Monorail cleaned, seat rollers inspected and running smooth.
- Footrests adjust on both sides.
- PM3 powers on and reads distance, split and stroke rate.
- Frame and welds checked. Cosmetic marks recorded and photographed, nothing structural.
- Rowed before listing.
What grade C honestly means
Grade C means the machine works exactly as it should and looks like it has been used. On this one that is scuffing and fading on the frame, the sort of marking a machine picks up from being moved and stored rather than abused. There is no rust at the welds and no play in the joints.
If you want a machine that looks new, this is not it and we will not pretend otherwise. If you want a Concept 2 that rows properly for the price of a mid-range spin bike, this is the cheapest honest way in.
The monitor
This one carries the PM3, which was standard before the PM5. It tracks distance, split, stroke rate and calories, and it does everything you need to train. What it does not have is Bluetooth, so it will not pair with ErgData or a heart rate strap. Concept2 sells the PM5 as a retrofit and it bolts straight on, so that is an upgrade you can make whenever you want it rather than paying for it now.
What $699 buys against new
A new RowErg is $1,705 direct from Concept2 Australia. This is $1,006 less. You are trading cosmetics and a monitor generation for a four-figure saving, and the parts that make it row are identical. The full comparison across every model is on the new versus used page.
| Monitor | PM3, upgradeable to PM5 |

Delivery and warranty
Australia-wide delivery quoted at checkout, or collect from the Perth workshop by appointment and row it before you pay. Two boxes, bolts bagged. Details on the delivery page.
The same 30 days on working parts applies to this machine as to the grade A ones, and you have seven days to send it back if we described the wear wrongly. Terms on the warranty page. What grade C means is set out on the grading page.
Upgrading the PM3 later
You do not have to live with the older monitor. The PM5 is a direct replacement and Concept2 supports the swap on this generation of machine, with the details on their PM5 support page. Buy the machine now at $699, add the monitor when you want Bluetooth, and you have still spent less than a new rower.
Plenty of people never bother. If your training is steady-state and you are not logging metres against anyone else, the PM3 tells you everything you need to know.
It stays a genuinely useful monitor either way.
Graded C. Approximately 95,000 metres, PM3 monitor, cosmetic wear photographed. Mechanically sound.
